Solfrid Grav

I am originally from Malvik in South Trøndelag and currently reside in Hisøy, Arendal. Here, I have my own studio where I work. Atelier S.G. is a painting workshop with sales; please see the contact information.

Many describe me as an imaginative artist with various forms of expression. For me, living and being on the journey is what I draw upon in my paintings – what I experience, see, hear, and feel, which is expressed in different ways in my artwork. I draw inspiration from experiences, human interactions, politics, music, and poetry.

I have a modernist, abstract style with recognizable figurative elements in my paintings. My use of color varies between bold and, at times, more muted tones, and I enjoy experimenting with different textures. In the gallery on the website, you will find a presentation of the expressions I work with.

My first solo exhibition was held in Houston, Texas, USA in 2002, and I have sold paintings to buyers from the Netherlands, Malaysia, Poland, the USA, Venezuela, and Norway. In 2003, I participated in the World Trade Center Memorial Competition. In Norway, I have participated in exhibitions in Arendal, Kristiansand, Malvik, Oslo, and Trondheim.

My art education is from both Norway and the USA.
